Using the TouchWindow with Windows for Workgroups may require
some system modifications. Should you encounter problems installing
the TouchWindow try the following:

(1) Replace the Serial.386 file in your C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory with
the one provided on the TouchWindow installation disk. This is a
maintenance file provided by Microsoft to enable 'High Speed'
serial ports (with 16550 UART) to work properly with Windows for Workgroups.
To do this type the following:

	RENAME C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SERIAL.386 SERIAL.BAK
	COPY A:\WFW\SERIAL.386 C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM

Note: Substitute the A: with your floppy drive letter if it is different.
Note: Substitute the C:\WINDOWS if Windows is installed to a different drive or directory on your system.

** You must shut OFF your system, pause for a few (5) seconds **
** and restart your system for all changes to take effect. **

Detailed information on the new SERIAL.386 file can be found
in the MSREADME.TXT file found on the TouchWindow installation disk in
the A:\WFW directory. You may view this file from the DOS prompt by
typing:

	EDIT A:\WFW\MSREADME.TXT

(2) If, after replacing Serial.386 with the one as described above the
TouchWindow still fails to respond an additional modification may be
required. To make this modification, follow these steps:

From the Program Manager, click the File pull down menu and select Run.
Next, in the edit box type

	sysedit

then press the ENTER key.

Now click on the Window titled: "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM.INI" Scroll down and look
for a line that says:

	device = *vcd

Insert a semi-colon in front of this line such that it reads

	;device = *vcd

Click the File pull down menu and select Save.
Click the File pull down menu and select Exit.

** You must shut OFF your system, pause for a few (5) seconds **
** and restart your system for all changes to take effect. **

(3) If you are still experiencing difficulty, you may be encountering a conflict with your Windows mouse driver. You may try installing a different mouse driver (the Logitech version is usually compatible) to fix this problem. If you do not have a standard Microsoft compatible mouse, then you will need
to contact our Technical Support department for further assistance.

To change your Windows mouse drive, follow these steps:

From the Program Manager, open the Main group and double-click the Windows Setup icon. Click the Options pull down menu and select Change System Settings. Change the Mouse driver from its current setting to Logitech,
(if it is already on Logitech then try changing it to Microsoft/PS2 style).
If prompted, ensure that you install off of the disk; do not use the existing
driver.

Follow the on-screen instructions.
